BEFORE & AFTER Photos, plus Tips for Staging

APPEAL TO MORE BUYERS WITH A NEUTRAL STYLE AND PALETTE.
The perfectly nice traditional, but specific, style of this living room (below left) with its Queen Anne furnishings
and darker colors, is transformed with a monochromatic and airy palette (below right) that will appeal to the
tastes of almost any buyer.  The change in furniture made such a dramatic difference in the room most visible
from the entry that it justified rental of the pair of sofas.

SOMETIMES, THE BEST WINDOW TREATMENTS ARE NONE AT ALL.
Removal of window treatments often lets in far more light and can really pay off, as in this case, when there is a
beautiful view just outside.  Plus, the windows now look twice as wide.

    SHOWCASE SPECIAL ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS.
By adding the same color to all the walls of the open plan entry, the beautiful columns and millwork suddenly
command the buyer's attention.  A round table and stunning florals accentuate the curve of the grand staircase.

IF YOU'VE GOT IT, FLAUNT IT.    :)
High ceilings?  Check.  Gorgeous 2-story windows?  Check.  Large stone fireplace?  Check.
By carrying the wall color all the way up the angled walls, hanging a large grid of maritime maps that echoes the
huge white window frames, and rearranging the furniture to highlight the fireplace, all a buyer can say is "Wow."

    EDIT, EDIT EDIT.
Without changing anything except the dark green paint on the front of the peninsula, a couple of chairs and some
flowers, this transformation was all about editing out in order to streamline the color palette and let the inherent
beauty of the space shine through.
